anyone have a manner to stop a hopper cart on the track until it's full then send it off, and so a way to end a hopper cart on the rails until it'southward empty, then send it off?

At that place are several approaches you could take to this. The approach I would probably take if I were doing it would be to time how long information technology takes for a full hopper to empty itself. Then at the unloading signal I would take a timer that is activated past the hopper cart passing over a detector rail. The hopper is then stopped at the unloading indicate long enough for the hopper cart to unload then sent on information technology's way back to the loading signal where it sits until it's loaded.
You don't mention whether you're manually loading it or if yous demand an automatic loading as well, all the same yous could use a similar system as the unloading point, but I would probably add a detector for whether the loading point has nada to load which and then stores the cart until something is detected in the arrangement to load.
A more resources heavy method to unload the cart without stopping information technology would be to just run it over a line of several hoppers which receive the items out of it equally information technology passes over.

Re: 3D Minecraft - Anyone tried it?

I tried information technology with terrible results. I gave my married woman my spectacles for a 2nd, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

The loading of the cart is done from higher up via hopper. I have a stacked chest->hopper->chest system, that I hope to output into the hopper(can too be a chest) cart. this cart then carries the items to another location for unloading

i would simply utilize a comparator to give off a long redstone output to the powered track when the hopper cart is full

problem I always ran into was the fact that you need a station. y'all can't just stop a cart in the middle of a rail and then showtime it again, it has to push button off a block with a powered track next to it, or be on a gradient.

At that place is actually lots of information about it already. It all depends on your case. Here are two possibilities (there are more):

"But have intendance, it would be better if you ship the cart back when information technology's half full. Otherwise the cart will get stuck."
that is exactly what you said, therefore according to you, it is not a solution. stuck minecarts is what I am addressing. Don't sympathise how this could exist a solution if you yourself admit the minecarts still get stuck.

This is all well and skilful, just... permit me clarify what I'm after:
Hopper Cart comes into "loading" station
A hopper above fills the hopper cart UNTIL FULL.
If not plenty items are nowadays to fully load the hopper cart, the cart is to remain until full
Once full (and only when total), cart is sent off

and what is completely total? what if after mining you accept 26 stacks of cobble and 1 diamond. all the slots have an item in them but there is room for 63 diamonds. would you consider this cart full or would you rather it sit idle until you discover 63 more diamonds?

Ok, to explain, I have a sorter that divides mined stuff up and plan to use loading/unloading stations to transfer the items from my mine to either their respective chests, or an auto smelter.
Each material mined will take it'south ain station, coming off the sorter. (dirt, cobble, gravel, stone, atomic number 26, gold, etc etc)
I've already setup transfer stations for 'precious' materials using just a cart running back and forth.
For the blocks that usually come up in bulk from a mine, I'd similar the cart to only wait until in that location'due south no more than room in it for it's specific material before launching

Ok, And so basically I've made 3 variations of machines that can handle whatsoever combination of items and fill to capacity and depart. The first ii are virtually the aforementioned size (10x8x6 vs 10x8x7) and make full that carts to a maximum of 25 slots, the third is a chip larger (12x8x9) but does fill upwards all 27 slots. All Iii fill 2 mine carts simultaneously, and so, if infinite is at a premium the proportions could exist halved (5x8x6, 5x8x7, 6x8x9) all the same, output will be cut in half.
All accept overflow protection, underflow protection, and multi-item back up. the only means to suspension them are to send in full/partially full carts or to transport a very specific number of items into the organization (say send 50 stacks +2 single items). Non-stack-able items won't break the machine, but they will issue in a reduced output.
